Seven people in East Cambridgeshire have each been fined £200 plus costs for failing to return their canvass form despite being requested to complete the form over ten times in the past two years.

In each case, the District Council sent a canvass form out in August 2008, which was then followed by three visits from a canvasser during October 2008 with a blank canvass form being left at the property on the third visit. This process was repeated in 2009 and Officers also wrote three letters to each defendant before they were finally sent a summons.
