Feb, 2010 – Meet the characters at Oliver Cromwell’s House
Mrs Cromwell’s maid Betsy will be in the kitchen to advise on preparing meals for the Cromwell household. Whilst preparing the food you will be able to learn about the recipes and discover the unusual objects used in cooking. There will also be a children’s trail around the house with clues and riddles and an opportunity to practise your medieval handwriting as well as having a go at dressing up in 17th century costumes. Mar, 2010 – Northern Lights
Ely Sinfonia brings Ely Cathedral alive with music to conjure up visions of the Northern Lights at a concert at 7.30pm on Saturday 6th March. Highlight of the concert of music from the north is Sibelius’ highly evocative violin concerto, played by young, international British virtuoso Matthew Trusler. Also on the programme is the Peer Gynt suite no 1 by Norwegian composer Edward Greig and Symphony no. 5 by Carl Nielsen, the Danish composer. Matthew Trusler will meet children from the audience, as well as premium ticket holders and Friends of Ely Sinfonia, at a special reception in the interval. Date of event: 6 Mar

Saturdays see the Craft and Collectibles market take centre stage with 40 + stalls offering antiques, individual pieces of furniture, paintings to suit all tastes, jewellery and many other unique items.

Ely Farmers Market (Every 2nd & 4th Saturday)
On the second and fourth Saturday of every month the Market extends to include the excellent Ely Farmer's Market. This well stocked market boasts up to 30 stalls of locally sourced fresh food produce.
Throughout the year seasonal vegetables and meat are always available as are bread eggs and juices. To ensure full selection try to arrive early, as bread is often sold out by 11 am, an early start will also give you the added benefit of more time to spend in Ely enabling you to fully enjoy all that we have to offer.
