Find about trades and crafts in the Fens by talking to our Fen character. Be brave, discover her pantry and have a go at weaving your own paper basket to carry your egg home! Listen to the tales of our apothecary and soldier, have a go at making secret potions, try on the heavy helmets and find out about cannon balls and bullets! Sep, 2010 – 37th Haddenham Steam Rally and 23rd Haddenham Heavy Horse Show
This year’s special display will be a selection of engines owned by the late Tom Paisley and sold at his famous 1980 sale. This year marks the 30th Anniversary of the sale of one of the largest private engine collections of its time. Tom was a regular exhibitor at the early Haddenham Rallies. The rally will have its usual selection of steam engines, vintage tractors, stationary engines, vintage vehicles, heavy horse show (Sunday), craft tent, trade stands & old time fair. In addition to its usual working demonstrations, the event will once again have ploughing by steam, horse & tractor. New for 2010 will be a vintage road making display, and Dr Busker playing in the beer tent on Saturday evening! Date of event: 11-12 Sep

The Cromwell’s Arms: was there any room at the Inn? Cromwell liked Christmas: oh no he didn’t? It was only a quiet affair in the Cromwell’s household, no presents or Christmas trees even the animals in the stable had to be useful! Come and find out about the geese, sheep, the donkey and the horses in Cromwell’s House. Talk to our wool spinsters and hear her spinning Christmas tales, have a go at medieval handwriting with your quill & feather and find out about Cromwell’s stables in the cathedral. Every Sunday afternoon enjoy the sounds of a variety of brass and jazz bands.
Ely General Market (Every Thurday)
Ely's Thursday Market regularly comprising 60 + stalls, ranging from traditional produce, fruit and vegetables, homewares, ladies and gents fashions to speciality stalls including feta cheese and olives and freshly ground coffee.

Ely Craft & Curiosities Market (Every Saturday)
Saturdays see the Craft and Collectibles market take centre stage with 40 + stalls offering antiques, individual pieces of furniture, paintings to suit all tastes, jewellery and many other unique items.

Ely Farmers Market (Every 2nd & 4th Saturday)
On the second and fourth Saturday of every month the Market extends to include the excellent Ely Farmer's Market. This well stocked market boasts up to 30 stalls of locally sourced fresh food produce.
Throughout the year seasonal vegetables and meat are always available as are bread eggs and juices. To ensure full selection try to arrive early, as bread is often sold out by 11 am, an early start will also give you the added benefit of more time to spend in Ely enabling you to fully enjoy all that we have to offer.
