To this end we are holding an open day on the 17th July where people can come and view the vehicle that is fitted with all the latest communication devices. We are inviting senior managers/directors to come and see the units working and get a more ‘in depth’ look. This event is sponsored by BOX Telematics who have fitted the tracking device to the Sahara vehicle. We are offering a free mobile handset to the first 50 directors to attend the day plus a free draw. In addition to the specialist vehicle on show we will also provide refreshments in the lunch hour. • Eden Event – ‘The Big Lunch’
  • Saturday 18 Jul, 2009

  • Imagine a summer’s day on which millions of us, throughout the UK, sit down to have lunch together – in the middle of our streets, around our tower blocks and on every patch of common ground. The food, entertainment and decorations we will have grown, cooked or created ourselves. This will be a day to break bread with our neighbours, to put a smile on Britain’s face. It’s called The Big Lunch…A new initiative run by the Eden Project, The Big Lunch encourages communities to come together through growing food and flowers; creating street music, art and theatre; dressing the street and cooking and eating together. The day after the Big Lunch, people will walk down their street and know someone in most windows. However, the legacy of The Big Lunch seeks to be much bigger than just the day after… The aim is to give people the tools to strengthen their communities through activities such as neighbourhood-watch; improving local amenities such as youth centres; taking care of the elderly or disabled; making imaginative improvements to the local environment; sharing resources from lawnmowers to cars; and supporting local charities both with money and volunteering time.
